Other Changes

Other changes to commissions.

  • I will no longer be offering vehicles as an option in Personal Commissions. I have often refused them outright, but I am making it a part of my official TOS.
  • Unfinished or unpaid files requested by the commissioner such as preliminaries and WIPs will be watermarked. No source files will be available for non-commercial commissions.
  • Full sized files of alternate versions and of finished works (non-drawing changes such as colors and markings) and states of finished (lines, flats, etc) will be made available for an extra fee. Example: Purchased a Basic character art, but also want the Line Art. Purchased a Flat Color but also want alternate hair colors.
  • Standard size of finished works will be increasing slightly: 1000px for headshots, 1800px for partial, 3600px for character art.
  • The style of single character sketches (standard and colored) and sketch pages will change slightly.
  • Basic Character art style will be changing slightly.

Coming Soon…?

There are a few things I am planning on changing or adding later on. Please note that I am not guaranteeing these changes, but am exploring the possibilities.

Ref Sheets

I removed reference sheets as an option long ago for many reasons, but have toyed with the idea of bringing them back because of how requested they are. If I do bring them back it will likely be on a strict template basis with no additional options (Example: Two bodies, three heads, minimal text, swatches, solid background, no shading.)

The reason for this rigidity is to make a standard, readable sheet that is efficient for me to produce at a decent price. Reference sheets have often proved to be extremely labor intensive and require a lot of edits, making them not terribly enjoyable to work on, so it will be important to me to take control over the specifics. I have no ETA on this, and cannot guarantee I will be bringing this back, but am letting everyone know I am considering it.

As always, you are welcome to get any artwork à la carte and construct your own reference sheet. I recommend using Flat Color commissions for this. Let me know if you plan on using them for reference sheets and I can make sure the artwork is optimized for color clarity and detail readability, and can provide you with a transparent PNG for ease of construction.

Colored Sketch Pages

I removed colored sketch pages a while back because I could not find an efficient way to produce or price them. I am exploring the idea of giving some color options per sketch, though it will likely be an add-on post sketch page completion. No prices or ETA yet.

Badges

At the moment, I have no specific commission type for a badge, just badge upgrades. Printing physical badges and laminating them is labor intensive at the moment as I need to send away for the prints (I do not own a color printer) and my lamination machine is hit or miss lately. Because of this I may phase out offering physical badges and may instead continue to offer the artwork that you can print yourself. Badges do not make up a significant portion of my workload so I will need to see if any further investment in hardware will be worth my time and money.

Real Media

There’s been a perpetual spot on my Available Commissions page for Real Media for ages now, promising some samples. This will still be the case for the time being, but am exploring more Real Media options that can reasonably fit within my workflow and meet my standards for quality and consistency. Note that real media works are not streamed.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years! I hope to continue earning your business with quality work and fair prices!
