If you’ve been here recently, you may notice the site looks a little different! Nothing super interesting, I decided to not renew a subscription for a design tool I use on this site, so I had to retrofit my pages that used it. Most all pages should have no major changes other than looks (should contain all the same info from before).
The one exception is the Available Commissions page. Base prices are unchanged, but I decided to drop down the starting cost of a vignette to 30%. I kept it at 40% for all commission types to try and make it easy to make estimates, but didn’t feel like it was a good representation for all types. The cost will usually increase only if I feel the vignette will out strip the the price of the base 30% (things that take a lot of time for me to render like tons of smaller details that need hand rendering, more complex or geometric environments like buildings or machinery, etc).
I’ve also added the option to request a “clear” version of the Flats. This is an option either to add-on for Flats, Basic or Deluxe commissions, or to use instead of the original treatment for the Flats Style commissions. It removes all the adjustments and textures so that the image can be a faithful representation of the character for other artists. You can even choose to have the background be solid white or transparent for ease of use as reference material. I do not offer reference sheets, but with this option you can have your artwork optimized for your own purposes. Please visit the Available Commissions for more info.
EXAMPLES:

I’ve also added the option to “Float” your Headshot. This is something I technically offered but didn’t make obvious. By default, Headshots are formatted into a 1×1 canvas and designed in such a way as to maximize the artwork’s readability as a profile picture or avatar. If you’ve gotten a Headshot from me, you may notice the square and circle template i put over the sketch, to ensure that the composition works in this format.

But with the option to “float,” you can instead have your character’s head float on the canvas, without the constraints of a 1×1 canvas. This is ideal for when you do not want to crop out parts of your character’s design (ideal for character with long ears, horns, etc) or want to make your own crops. Please note that unlike the default format, which can show the character up to around this collarbone and some shoulder, a floating Headshot will only show the head (possibly part of the neck). There’s no price change between the two, though if showing a character’s entire head comes with significantly more detail, the price may change.
ALSO also, I am in the process of listing some of my linocuts on my Ko-Fi Shop. Until now I have kept my fine art printmaking on my older portfolio shop, mostly because my printmaking is such a departure from my commission work. But it doesn’t make a lot of sense to not put the prints there. This is taking a little longer than I anticipated (it’s just tedious) but look for original linocuts to join my sticker offerings by next month!
That should be it for now! Please reach out to me if you see anything wonky, be it incorrect or missing information, errors, etc. I plan on making more adjustments later on!
